Custom Lenses

Price, as reflected, includes custom reading lenses fitted in our optical lab here in Dallas. These are the identical lenses we use in our high-end optical stores for prescription use on some of the most expensive designer frames in the world. Your glasses will arrive ready to wear, with the original Ray-Ban zero-power sunglass lenses wrapped separately, should you ever wish to convert your frames back to non-reading sunglasses. As an option, we can have your reading glass lenses processed through Ray-Ban’s in-house Rx lab using your prescription. This option will give you the Ray-Ban logo etched on the lens. This direct from Ray-Ban lab option is available through ReadingGlasses.com’s authorized dealer relationship. Interested customers must furnish a copy of their current Rx, and we will follow up with a quote. Rest assured, you’ll enjoy the highest optical quality frames and lenses with either option.

    Nice but not completely

They look nice but the progression is weird. I get how they are supposed to work but I wish instead of going from zero magnification at the top to the chosen magnification at the bottom, they could have a slight magnification at the top to make the transition smoother. Also, the gradation of the tint from top to bottom is not smooth. They are very darkly tinted at the top which makes them hard to see through without any magnification, and they are untinted at the bottom . I like sunglasses which do this gradient tint, but usually they have a smoother gradient in the tint from top to bottom. These are almost half & half instead of the smooth gradient tint on my original RayBan aviator glasses. I find myself tilting my head up all the time to see through them. The main problem with these is there is significant distortion when you look through the sides is the lenses. When you move your head from side to side everything gets warped and wavy. Not just a little, but a lot. Had I known they would perform like this, I would have probably opted for the non progressive and regular reading lenses. You can see in the photo how my old aviator glasses on the right have such a nicer and smoother gradient in the tint. And how these new ones are too dark at the top and too light at the bottom making them difficult to comfortably see through.
