101 Product Reviews
I didn't need a new pair of sunglasses, but wanted readers for vacation in the sun. These are a perfect answer to my needs.
** you need to follow the instructions people! if you do, they stick VERY well!

Great idea, it took 5 min to install, I have RayBan Aviator sunglasses, I install them from inside, works great, nobody can tell I'm wearing bifocals

Upgraded polarize fishing glasses
They worked well. You need to read and follow the directions carefully. I strayed on one pair and on fell off. Be careful to get all dust specs off of both the hydrotac and target glasses.

bi focal stick ons
Thumbs down mine never stayed on the glasses kept falling off and I put them on per instructions. If they were made to stick on then maybe a better review.
Staff Response: Please retry: We have thousands of happy customers using this product. Please try again by cleaning the lenses and bifocals before re-applying using a dab of dishwashing liquid and plenty of water. Residual oils from handling or face are almost aways the issue.
Jeffrey Ruggiers Location: Lock Haven, PA January 26, 2017
This was a perfect solution instead of wearing a pair of reading glasses over my prescription glasses! They are more noticable than integrated bifocals, but are an excellent option for continuing to get use from my single vision glasses now that I need more help up close!
Michael Miller Location: Old Hickory, TN December 26, 2016
Good concept but does not adhere
If I could give 0 stars I would. The first time I wore the hydrotac lenses they fell off the glasses lens
Staff Response: Please try again: This is easily solved. Meticulously clean the lenses and bifocals before re-applying using a dab of dishwashing liquid and plenty of water. Residual oils from handling or face are almost aways the issue.

Just what I needed.

Easy to install, works great!
Got the product about a month ago and put them on my sunglasses right away. It was very easy to install and has worked great. What I especially like about these stick on bifocal lenses is that I can choose the sunglasses that I want and just add these lenses for close up reading. I checked many if the "reader" sunglasses available and since I have a wide face, none of them were wide enough for me. Very happy with this product and will surely buy again.
Thomas Nakagawa Location: Honolulu, HI October 31, 2016
I installed these on a pair of prescription sunglasses. Now I can read magazines and use my iPhone again!
I placed the product on the inside surface of my lenses, which, in my opinion, looks better than an outside application.
Small negative: I found the plastic a little challenging to cut to size. Fortunately, there was quite a bit of excess, so I could make up for some crooked cuts.
I will be purchasing more.
David Frenz Location: Golden Valley, MN October 03, 2016
Worked great, I'm going to purchase more of these.

My Stick on readers.
Received my Hydrotacs three weeks ago, and they work as advertised. Stuck them on my Oakleys M-Frame for driving; I don't use them for driving but just so I can read in the car. Now I don't need to be switching from sunglasses to readers while in the car. What a difference. I followed the application directions and sure enough they stay in place. After two weeks, I pulled them off and trimmed them to better fit my needs then reapplied them to a different set. Used them at the gun range, and while out cutting the grass and they stayed on. Highly recommend and will be ordering two more sets as I have three different colored sunglasses. Reason being, the drying time is at least over night for them to cure to lens properly. So you CAN'T just switch and go, must follow steps.
Mrio Location: Houston, TX September 14, 2016
Worked just like advertised. No issue sticking to the sunglasses if you clean them well.
Sergio Location: Mahopac, NY August 24, 2016
I have a lot of hobbies which require eye protection while also need to see up close. Blacksmith safety glasses with the corrective lenses where you want them rather than where some manufacturer thinks all should be. Motorcycle goggles which allow you to see guages conveniently. Auto driving set at the dashline. Sunglasses for photography which allow you to swap between distance items and camera settings.
Never had a lens come loose because I followed the directions.
RabbyTat Location: Covington, LA July 10, 2016
Excellent product. Allows me to turn my favorite sunglasses into readers which is extremely helpful in seeing the dashboard while still being able to see long-distance while driving.
Gregg Pomeroy Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL June 28, 2016
They work perfect and were easy to install.
Tom McNeil Location: Goodyear, AZ June 12, 2016
Good but I put them on outdoor sunglasses. They fall off. Fear I will lose them one day. you can re-apply. If you locate where they fell off
Staff Response: Recommend to always meticulously clean the lenses and bifocals before re-applying using a dab of dishwashing liquid and plenty of water. Residual oils from handling or face are almost aways the issue.

Hydrotac +175 lenses
Works as advertised. Recommended!
Joaquin Bustamante Location: Oro Valley, AZ May 16, 2016
I am very pleased with this product. A very cost effective approach to prescription sun glasses . I now have 3 pairs !
Frank A Joiner Jr Location: Duvall, WA May 04, 2016
Converted two pair of costly polarized prescription sunglasses. Installed per instructions, making certain that the lenses were scrupulously clean. A pair of tweezers were helpful in getting them positioned correctly; I set them up so that the line was at my car dashboard level, so I can see outside and the instrument panel equally well. They work better than I expected. Highly recommended, would buy again.
Donald S Brant Jr Location: Roswell, GA May 04, 2016
hard to keep in place
I finally got them to stay on the glasses but they came off and now are lost.
Staff Response: Always caused by oil film residue left on lenses. Use a dab of dishwashing liquid and rinse to remove any oils from the surface of the lenses before re-applying.
Bruce Conley Location: Mars, PA April 11, 2016
Great product, makes those sunglasses much more versaitle.
Jack Sykes Location: Colorado Springs, CO April 05, 2016
Bought two pair for sunglasses. Simple to install and work great.
Arthur Bales Location: Mims, FL January 04, 2016

these are great to adapt your expensive sports glasses to Functional expensive sports glasses. Love these
RP Location: Cincinnati, OH December 13, 2015
Used to add shooting bifocal and worked well.
John Shriver Location: Cedaredge, CO November 26, 2015
Working good on sunglasses. Tried to trim one side with a very sharp razor blade while lying on hard flat surface & newspaper, and found more difficult than expected from directions. I marked bottom edge with a sharp pointed sharpie and cut inside edge with sharp strong pair of scissors and it worked much better. Turned first one upside down on other and used it as outline. Took me a couple of tries to stick on backside of glasses to get bubbles out.
Works great to read instrument panel while driving and reading basics with sun glasses. Much better than several hundred dollars for poor sunglasses with just Rx for reading.
Arthur Beatty Location: Los Altos, CA November 19, 2015
While the magnification received was correct I cannot see thru them. I have several other pairs of 1.5 reading glasses which perform well, these are not working for me at all.
Russell Clark Location: West Olive, MI October 29, 2015
Greatest idea ever!
I wish I had invented this! What a savings, as opposed to the cost of having prescription bifocals added to your favorite sunglasses! Love them and own 4 pair!
Deidre Hammell Location: Ship Bottom, NJ September 14, 2015
How did I not find these sooner?
As a pilot, I have my favorite sunglasses that I wear in the plane. Getting them bifocal was cost prohibitive. Switching back and forth to reading glasses was tedious. This product solved it! Easy to install and position, I'm no longer changing glasses while flying! The magnification is perfect and clear. Recommended!
Jeff September 09, 2015
transformed my sunglasses
I applied these Hydrotac lenses to an expensive pair of sunglasses I received as a gift. They are great! I can read very well and the applied lenses don't block my view when I'm not reading. I did have to cut them down a little, using the instructions provided. Great purchase!
Mary Beall Location: Garland, TX September 08, 2015
Took awhile but found what I needed
I had bought a pair of these a few years ago for my regular glasses. I had a need again for these but my pharmacy did not carry them anymore. Was overjoyed to find them and a spare pair!
Karl Larson Location: Ridgefield, WA September 05, 2015
magnificent product, horrible packaging
After cataract surgeries Hydrotacs saved me over two hundred dollars for new bifocal glasses. I see fine details now. Opening the plastic monster package and reading the miniscule instructions I got the lens installed using my own common sense. I would recommend Hydrotac lens to my friends and eye professionals. I would buy them a pair if the packaging were improved!
Cyrus B Fletcher Location: Baytown, TX August 21, 2015
2 pairs of glasses
this product is very helpful. I use to wear cheaters with my sunglasses. not an attractive look
Joan Romer Location: Elmhurst, IL August 18, 2015
Works OK. The stick-on lens is too big for small to medium frame glasses, so you need to cut off the bottom portion and trim the sides with a sharp pair of scissors. When cleaning, you might have to remove them and then reset them onto the lens.
Anthony Iavicoli Location: Garrison, NY August 18, 2015
Reader lens for sunglasses
Excellent idea and great product. Made my Maui Jim sunglasses into readers without having to replace the great Maui Jim lens with prescription lens
Moshe Location: Cupertino, CA August 06, 2015
The stick on lenses work perfectly. No longer need to carry my Rx glasses along on daily bike rides in order to be able to read the computer or make calls on cellphone. Tremendously good buy. Highly recommend. Suggest new purchasers just read and follow the simple installation instructions when applying them. Thanks for a GREAT product.
Arthur Harman Location: Montgomery, AL August 02, 2015
I have used these optical inserts for years going back to when the company was Optx.
They are excellent today as they were years ago.
Bruce Wetzel Location: The Villages, FL July 31, 2015
Although a little tricky to put on, these were worth the effort! I was able to turn my sunglasses into readers. The lenses were clear and had perfect magnification. I will purchase more for other glasses.
Suzanne Massey Location: Little Rock, AR July 25, 2015
useful, good product
Since my vision is different in each eye I buy two pairs of stick-on lenses in different strenghths. It works well to improve my reading vision and prevent the headaches related to eye strain.
Glynn Olive Location: Seattle, WA July 23, 2015
i bought these ti add to my fishing glasses. They work well but came off a couple times. After i used hot water on the glasses and magnifiers, they seem to stay on pretty good. I recommend them.
SDD Location: Gardendale, AL June 30, 2015
These are great and they were easy to install. Now I can wear my regular sunglasses that I love. Eliminates the need to buy another pair of sunglasses. Thanks!
Dorothy Mervine Location: West Palm Beach, FL June 29, 2015
Love the convenience of making any glasses readers. Just wish you had two sizes so I could confirm them to the glasses I purchase.
Jodi Blatt Location: Reading, PA June 25, 2015
I've been using Hydrotacs for over 5 years. Put them on Oakley sunglasses for Flyfishing, tying, reading etc. as I need help close up.
Just make sure the lenses are clean, wet them & the Hydrotacs, place them appropriately & let them dry. I have never had one come off or move. Even while fishing hot weather, saltwater in Florida or cold in the Great Lakes. I put them on once & that's it. Must admit I was skeptical but they've been on all these years. Can even spray the lenses lightly, wipe them off & no problem. My Eye Doctor couldn't believe it. Then I showed her. Vision is perfect. I'm "over" satisfied & you can't go wrong at readingglasses.com. In stock & fast, free shipping. Thank you!
I just bought 3 more pairs for new glasses as the price there is a third of other places.

Work better than I could have hoped!
Love these Hydrotac readers. These work great for me since I just need a reader. Extremely easy to apply to your sunglasses.
Troy Marseline Location: LINDSBORG, KS May 08, 2015
One fell off.
The second time I wore my new sunglasses with these stick-ons, one of the stick-ons fell off and was lost. I must have done something wrong.....
Staff Response: No worries, we've sent a replacement pair at no charge. Use a dab of dishwashing liquid and rinse to remove any oils from the surface of the lenses before re-applying. Should not happen again.
Shelley Bond Location: Belmont, CA April 06, 2015
have not had a chance to use them yet
I am a scuba diver and need readers to see up close so I bought these to put inside my goggles under water. They are supposed to stick inside my goggles and allow me to see things close up under water. I got the hint from a dive shop I visit. but I have not had a chance to use them I will be diving soon and let you know
Donna Vickodil Location: Aliquippa, PA March 29, 2015
Use them on my racingbike glasses. I can finaly read my Garmin gps.
Peter Verbiest Location: Franklin Park, IL February 03, 2015
Washed the lenses really well but just couldnt get them to stick on my serengeti glasses well enough. Also, first order was not picked up (apparently). Got the second and the lenses fell off (one got lost, the other I recovered. I was really hopeful too. I gave three stars because I think they would work, just not on my lenses.
Stephen Beckwith Location: Romulus, MI January 28, 2015
Perfect reader solution
I have perfect distance vision but need "cheaters" while flying. I stuck these on a pair of sunglasses, trimmed them down low on the lens and they're perfect!

A really great product.. easy to install I had to trim the lens some but other than that works perfectly.
SC Location: Santa Rosa Beach, FL December 03, 2014
Just what I needed
After making a couple of adjustments (sizing ) my serengeti sunglasses are now perfect. Allowing me to read my flying charts without having to switch to my readers.
Kenny Bacheller Location: Auburndale, FL November 22, 2014
These work ok but are on the thick side, so they look kind of bad. If you cut them, any imperfections in your cut will be very obvious so you're better using a sharp knife and cut them on a board. Otherwise they work ok.
jim Location: auburn November 19, 2014
Easy to attach. Make readers from any sunglasses.
Steve Location: Pompano Beach, FL November 04, 2014
These things are great
I already have a pair of 1.5x lenses on my regular sun glasses which work great for normal use. I just added a pair of 2.5x lenses to a new pair of polarized sun glasses so I would have the additional magnification to tie knots in fishing line for a recent fishing trip. The lenses worked perfectly. Having the extra magnification for working with the small fishing line was awesome.
John O'Brien Location: Boise, ID October 05, 2014
rewriting my review.... ok now i'm happy
sorry my bad...turns out the magic number for me at least is .25 less than my regular reading glasses. i think it may be the sharp curve of the lens i applied them to. so 1.75 is perfect. i like these because i ruin at least one pair of sunglasses per month offshore boating. now i can buy cheaper sunglasses and swap these inserts to the new pair.
JE Location: CENTRAL, FL September 29, 2014
Just what the eye doctor would order?
If fact he did. After my annual checkup I described the need for safety and/or off-the rack sunglasses put needing close in vision correction. Dr. told me which magnification was best for me and I got two pairs. And both work great. Clean the glasses, wet them down, stick on. Good to go. Not a permanent fix for a vision problem as prescription glasses but a great option when for price/style/available you still need to see.
Doug Caldwell Location: Plano, TX September 18, 2014
I have wanted some of these for a couple of years now but they were always out of stock. They are wonderful for my collegiate sunglasses that are not available in readers!
M.Sugar Location: Belleville, KS September 04, 2014
These stick-on readers are a great option for use on high end sunglasses. I have used these in the past and will say that they do not replace real readers but work well for reading maps, dashboard gauges, etc. I use these on Persol and Costa glass lens sunglasses without a problem.
Service from readingglasses.com is excellent!
Vincent Cole Location: DFW, TX August 25, 2014
good option for converting favorite glasses into reader cheaply.

works as advertised
I used these on a pair of mirrored sunglasses. They are barely noticeable from the outside and work well.
Anonymous Location: Anonymous July 25, 2014
Finally, there is a solution for people like me who need to add reading power to designer sunglasses. Yes you can buy bifocal designer sunglasses but options are usually very limited. I was able to trim them for just the right position. The Hydrotac lenses are working perfectly for me.
Donna H. Hardy Location: Seven Springs, NC July 24, 2014
I bought 2 pair and added them to my sun glasses. One pair for the car the other for recreation.
Robert Nixon Location: Fresno, CA July 22, 2014
Good value, but price is a bit high
These work fine, as described. Took me a while to get them on right without bubbles/distortion. The flexibility to use existing sun glasses is great, better at 1/2 the price.
Anonymous Location: Anonymous July 22, 2014
I put these in a set of non prescription sunglasses and they work better than any of the 3 pairs of bifocal sunglass readers I used previously.
Scott Location: Annapolis, MD July 18, 2014
These are great for sun glasses especially those with curved lenses.
Eugenie Juve Location: Sierra Vista, AZ July 18, 2014
Recently used these on a pair of special glasses I needed for glass working (using a torch). I have also used them before on expensive sunglasses (as I needed to add magnification) rather than throwing the glasses away.
Kathy Location: South Jersey July 15, 2014
Used this product in the past...work great applied to my sunglasses...perfect for beach reading.
Karen Henderson Location: HARLEYSVILLE, PA July 11, 2014
Exactly what I was looking for
Although they are rather large for most glasses they are easy to trim down with sharp scissors. I only wanted the bifocal along the very bottom of my sunglasses so I was able to trim them to just a few millimeters high. If you clean your glasses properly they stay in place very well.
Jeff June 09, 2014
I am not sure how the Hydrotak readers will work. Unfortunately, they were too big and stiff for my bicycle wrap around glasses. So, I still have them and will possibly use them on another pair of sunglasses.
Staff Response: The Hydrotac lenses can be trimmed in a strait line along the top flat bifocal edge to fit your sunglasses. If you need a little more coaching, contact us and we'll walk you through the process.
Anonymous Location: Anonymous May 13, 2014
Love Hydrotac! They have made my life alot easier! They are easy to place on your existing glasses, very little maintenance! I am at 300 magnification now, just wish they made them in a higher magnification. Do not hesitate to buy them, they are worth every cent!
Susan Wallis Location: St. Charles, MO May 05, 2014
Did not stay stuck on
The drop of water on the stick on lens did NOT keep one of the lens on my sun galsses and it was LOST two days later
Staff Response: Sending a replacement left voice message and e mailed customer also the care of apply the lenses peggy
John Morris Location: Belmont NC May 04, 2014
Now my favorite sunglasses are also readers. Can't remember if this is 3 or 4 pair. Unfortunately for me, each pair had to be a little stronger than the last. Each pair has lasted until new strength needed.

Make your own bifocals!
This is my second set ordered. First time was years ago when I first needed bifocals. I was a dedicated contact lens wearer and did not want to spend extra money on bifocal glasses. I put these on my old monovision glasses that I just wore around the house. Perfection! Now it is YEARS later and I just bought another set to make my own "computer" glasses out of an extra pair of progressive lens glasses. My doctor gave me a prescription, but just adding these stick-ons to my regular progressive lens glasses did the same thing for a lot less money than new prescription lenses.

I am a competitive senior cyclist with youthful ambition but senior eyesight! My favorite cycling glasses and the eye shield on my Time Trial helmet had no magification. Therefore, I could not read the smaller numbers on my cycling computer which is important in training and races. I used cheap safety readers and had to wear them under my Time Trial helmet. The helmet fits tight making the glasses dig into the side of my head. These lenses enable me to use the equipment as it was designed without a lot of expense. It has been cold, so I still don't know if perspiration will affect the adhesion.
Bob Location: Moncks Corner, SC February 27, 2014
They will change your life
You have no idea how these will make your life easier. No more switching between sunglasses and readers. No expensive prescription sunglasses you have to update. Get one magnification higher than you need to make up for the dark sunglasses lens.
Sashin Location: La Jolla February 25, 2014
I have used these for years and I am glad to see they are being produced again. They work great with little fuss, and I can pick the sunglasses I want and still be able to read.
Tom Location: Dallas, TX February 20, 2014
I have ordered these lens for years, very pleased with their performance

WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT. TRULY VERSATILE. FIRST BOUGHT FROM SPORTY'S PILOT SHOP AND WAS DEVASTATED WHEN PRODUCTION STOPPED AND REALLY HAPPY THEY ARE AGAIN AVAILABLE.
NICK KENNY Location: SYDNEY February 05, 2014
I have used these with my Maui Jim sunglasses that I use for sailing. They worked great until the lens started to fall out and while on a dingy ride one blew off! Hence the 4 rating, otherwise they are great! Buying more.
Karen M January 29, 2014
These were exactly as advertised and very easy to use. They have really made the difference and allowed me to use glasses that I wasn't able to before. Would definitely recommend!
joe fed Location: Shreveport, LA March 23, 2011
reading in the sun
Since I have about five pair of sunglasses, I didn't want to purchase ANOTHER pair of sunglasses just for reading. I can switch these lenses into any pair of my numerous sunglasses! They work great!
Judy A. Location: Jefferson City March 17, 2011
Ok i had the idea for these,,,,,,,, my mom said I was crazy,,, she said "Who would need these?" I said,, I would!!!
So,,, then I Googled it and found,,, and bought these!!! I am using these for my Poker Sun Glass's,,, and they are PERFECT!!!!
I would recommend these to anyone!

Changed my life!
I have been using these in my sunglasses since I wore Mag. 100. I now wear 225. At least 12 years. I can see the car dashboard, don't need reading glasses when I go for a walk, keeps me from squinting to see and thereby keeps my face more wrinkle-free. Wouldn't be caught without them. Get 25 mag more for dark sunglasses...If you wear 150s get 175s. Less light to your eyes can be made up with more magnification.
Sashin Location: La Jolla September 17, 2010
Optix 20/20 Lenses
Very good product. Have some problems with the process and getting the bubbles out. Stick better to flatter lenses.
Overall, very convenient for me. I can see the dashboard and readouts. Great for outdoors too!

Prevented a return
My kids bought me some nifty sunglasses for my birthday - non readers type and non prescription thinking I was getting contact lenses. Turns out I didn\\'t get the contact lenses which then meant I\\'d have to return these sunglasses if I wanted to see. UNTIL I searched for these type of stick on reading lenses. They work and now I don\\'t have to return my birthday sunglasses!!

I can see clearly now....
I purchased the Opti 20/20 stick ons to transform existing over the counter sunglasses into readers. They take a little getting use to, but work well enough so I do not need to carry separate sun glasses and readers when I am driving and reading.
The only problem I encountered was that the sticks on come off if not put on with a good wet seal.
An inexpensive way to have "sun readers".

Customize Your Sunglasses!
I started using these years ago after losing a VERY expensive pair of prescription bifocal sunglasses. They turn a cheap pair of Foster Grants into the the best thing going. You may find that once installed they aren't perfect enough to read printed matter for hours and hours. But for general use, they're great! The best thing about them is that they allow for infinite variation on where to place the bifocal line so that you don't have to tilt your head to see the entire dashboard of your car, or instrument panel of an aircraft. I've found that 1.5 and 1.75 have just about the right focal length for the average dash or instrument panel. Good product!

Can be trimmed
Recent cataract surgery gave me almost 20/20 -- far and intermediate. But I needed 2.50 for near. To replace my old glasses for driving I bought a pair of non-prescription Pepper's sunglasses. But couldn't use them to read a map. I tried these to fix that but found that they were a bit high and interfered with my driving vision. After a call to Peggy at customer services I trimmed a bit off the bottoms of the Optx. Now I have clear far vision -- can easily see the dash display -- and a map held on the steering wheel is readable. I even keep them on when shopping -- so I can read labels without having to change to my reading glasses.
Fred Location: De Leon, TX November 17, 2009
Changed my life.
On my sunglasses. Now I can see the dash and how fast I am going. Practically eliminates the need for regular glasses when you are out and about. Been using them for over 12 years. Get the next higher magnification when putting them in your sunglasses. You need it.
Sashin Location: La Jolla, CA October 05, 2009
I've installed these on many pairs of riding glasses throughout the years and have been impressed every time. They are also windproof up to 114 MPH - don't ask how I know that (he he). Glad I found these little jewels. I'll keep coming back for more and always recommend them to friends. They do discolor (usually yellow) from too much UV after about 4 years. Just ordered my fourth pair.

OPTX lenses are brilliant!
I’ve lost count of the number of pair (or is it pairs) of glasses I’ve gotten from ReadingGlasses.com and have been happy each time but the OPTX lenses are brilliant! I love changing sunglasses to suit whatever mood I’m in but have never had the luxury of being able to buy them all in the reading glass strength I needed . . . . now that’s no longer an issue! Thanks so much for another pleasant shopping experience!
