One, the glasses, lenses and coatings all work very well. These are very nice quality readers versus the kind you can buy off the shelf. Definitely a step or or two. Second, they look really nice and fit well. The lenses can get scratched so you need to be careful with them. I've had several pairs of these and they last about a year then the hinge breaks. I wear them every single day and take them on/off many times through out the day so they get a lot of use.
They look nice, but they are throwaways. The problem is two-fold. The anti-reflective coating on the lenses scratch off no matter how care you are with them. After a certain point the lenses are useless. This affects all the lenses used at ReadingGlasses.com, no matter what frame you choose. I do like the computer lenses, and I am in front of the computer about 10-14 hours per day (they also work well for other tasks). The second problem is that the frames break at the hinges after several months. The screw may work itself loose and then the hinge breaks. I average about 1 pair every 6-9 months (and I have a much more expensive pair for "special" occasions.
Really nice glasses, great for computer work. Imperceptible transition.
I like the texture on the frames, and I'm very happy with the lenses, although I do wish 0.25 increments were available. Only real complaint: the springs in the hinges of my frames feel crunchy, as if there is grit in there.
Excellent product. The lenses do scratch easy, so be careful.
As a small female the average/medium frames are a little to big. Lenses are good.
Very nice glasses, albeit a little expensive. If you order them be sure to get them in a strong magnification because the top halves are only 60% strength
While I liked the product, I am not sure they are that durable. I scratched the lens pretty badly on the first day I had them. I don't think the lens durability matches the upscale frame. $45 plus shipping to repair them puts it about at buy another pair.
I've bought a LOT of "computer" or "progressive" pseudo-bifocals over the years. Most run 1/5th the price of these, from Amazon or others. So this was a shift. I tried them to see if the higher price equates to better lenses, and to get something that doesn't LOOK like a cheap pair of readers. These look like custom glasses. They don't have that generic reading glasses look that flags your age; they're more hip. But that's not the amazing thing... they really do work better. (The 2nd pair - see below.) I'm not sure why, but side by side with similar-spec glasses from that big book store, these cause less eyestrain. So far so good... except the first pair I got weren't strong enough. My fault, math error essentially - the 60% was too low at what I'd chosen. So I wrote in about doing an exchange. That was also super-easy. Got the return label, sent them back, got the stronger ones, worked great. So yes, the expense provides better looking, better fitting and better performing glasses, but it also provided better service!
I like the good frame and the good lenses.
